Start with a name — the campaign is a container, not a send. It exists so a burst of activity across several channels can be planned, approved and reported on as one thing. Give it a planned date if you already know roughly when it should land.
Good to know
- A planned date never sends anything. Only a scheduled date does — that is the whole reason they are two separate fields.
- Nothing can hold both at once. A planned date is what something has instead of a scheduled time, so scheduling replaces the plan and a scheduled item cannot be re-planned until you cancel its schedule.
- Only drafts can be planned. Once an email is scheduled it has a real send time, and that replaces the plan.
- Planned dates show on the main calendar too, dashed, alongside meetings and tasks.
- A campaign is signed off, not sent — the emails grouped under it are what go out, each on its own schedule.
